A Day in The Life of our Consultancy Division: The Future Cities Case Study
Phase 6 – Making the Future Better with Fully Managed Recruitment
This sixth in a series of blog case studies follows our Lead IoT Consultant, Stuart White and his team as they help a Future Cities Company recruit the people they need to change how cities will work in the future.
If you’ve been following this series, you’ll know that we were brought in to help an incredible Community Interest Company with the recruitment of hard-to-find, highly prized skills for a future-focused project within the exciting area of smart cities.
We been working with the founders and HR director to instill a new recruitment roadmap and candidate experience model, which has already helped to attract various contractors and data analysts, and secure a new CEO. It’s been a challenge; recruiting in an unproven field for jobs that don’t exist yet requires a completely unique approach to both search and interview.
We are now at the stage where we need to ramp up numbers. This company needs to meet headcount targets and deliverables, so resource and internal expertise is critical if they are to meet their objectives of making a better future.
Initially, as Director, I worked on site with the client one day per week, spending time with the board to direct recruitment strategy and brand positioning, creating a new recruitment framework they can use in the future for direct hires.
In this second phase, the client now requires greater support and so we are moving to become a Master Service Provider and will be supplying a full time employee to help drive the recruitment campaigns and manage the RPO.
Our objective is to deliver the candidates this innovative organization needs to forge forward and become a world-leading game changer in terms of urban IoT and smart cities – but also to give the company everything they need to then take on and manage the recruitment themselves, using the insight and expertise we’ve given them over these past few months.
