Senior Developer – Java – Finance/Low Latency/Multithreaded

£60-90K + benefits + bonus

The Customer:

My client is renowned for their unrivalled reputation for technical expertise and delivery where everybody else fails or where unavailable technical expertise is needed. They have experienced steady growth since inception now boast a force of almost 200 people. They focus exclusively within the financial services space and develop high performance, highly scalable applications that include everything from trading and commodities to retail banking systems. They are growing at a phenomenal rate and now require exceptional Engineers with a strong and thorough understanding of software engineering principles.

The Role:

You will be based on site at reputable investment banks and financial organisations in the City working on predominantly long term projects (circa 1 year) that require exceptional technical minds with strong interpersonal skills. The focus is on quality and impressive problem solving, often having to turn around a project where other (large) consultancies have failed. You won't be shipped out to a different customer everyday, so you can be sure of a sense of ownership and achievement whilst working on behalf of some of the most prestigious financial organisations in the world for a name that people truly respect.

The Professional:

You, the Senior Development Consultant, will (without flexibility) have a strong knowledge of software engineering and the fundamental principles that underline it. You should have an excellent academic record along with strong Development experience with Java and the surrounding technologies. Other OO languages will be considered.

They are technology agnostic, so it's imperative you are a fast learner as you will be working with the latest and newest technologies all the time. You may have the opportunity to cross train if you wish but you can be sure your core technical routes won't be diluted.

You must have either experience with low latency/high availability systems, financial applications or a strong knowledge of multithreading!
