Job Description
We are looking for a Java Technical Lead with significant experience of designing and developing enterprise or internet scale software applications and leading developers to deliver such systems.

This role is a Senior Software Engineer at Alfresco with responsibility for designing software solutions to meet requirements, estimating the effort needed to deliver those solutions, and leading small teams of engineers to deliver those solutions on time using Alfresco's development process that is based on Scrum.

Profile
Required
* Strong server-side core Java development experience (8 years+)
* Practical knowledge of the Spring framework
* The ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken English
* Experience of having designed complex, multi-threaded software systems
* The ability to express software designs clearly, using UML where appropriate
* Experience of or clear potential to lead small teams of engineers to deliver high quality software
* Experience of the full software development lifecycle over a number of projects
* Educated to degree level in a numerate subject
* Knowledge of one or more content management systems
* A positive, enthusiastic outlook

Desirable
* A knowledge of design patterns with the ability to identify situations where design patterns can be usefully applied
* An understanding of software development at a lower level, perhaps with a background of developing using C or C++ before moving to Java
* Experience of developing RESTful web services
* Knowledge of any of:
o CMIS
o IMAP
o Sharepoint Protocol
o WebDAV
