Alfresco seeks a hand on Application Operations (DevOPS) Manager to lead a small and highly technical team that is responsible for the Alfresco SaaS product. This role is hands on and will lead systems technology selection and process creation, improvement and reworking to best support Alfresco's product offerings.

This role will be expected to work closely with Engineering on application design, Environment creation and release process so previous experience working with (or ideally as part of) engineering teams is essential. A deep understanding of the Engineering, Build, Release as well as QA and Deploy process and general best practice in SaaS provisioning is key.

As the leader of this team this role will combine both design, implementation and operational management responsibilities. They will also be expected to have excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will be expected to provide out-of-hours support as needed.

Experience of AWS and Java would be ideal.

Required Skills:
- 5 years+ experience of working in a high-availability environment as a Operations Manager, Snr. System Administrator or Systems Architect
- Ideally 2 year in a team lead or manager role
- Expert experience working with a Software Development team (LAMP, Java etc ) as the main representative of operations.
- Experience in defined operational practises and tasked with ensuring the "operatability" of released products.
- Excellent knowledge of cloud platform services and architectures (EC2, S3 etc).
- Experience working with software development and product management on architecting and launching hosted cloud applications.
- Extensive experience selecting and working with colocation, hybrid cloud and out sourced service providers and leading service reviews.
- Experience of installing, maintaining and monitoring databases
- Expert knowledge in server and Linux administration on virtualization environment
- Fanatical about automation and constantly improving the systems and processes they are tasked with maintaining.
- Good knowledge of most or all of the following technologies … DNS, DHCP, Configuration Management Tools (puppet), Backups, Scripting, SVN, LDAP, Alfresco (or other ECM tool), nagios, JIRA, Confluence, Crowd, Tomcat.
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls and good network security practice.
- Self directed and self prioritising.
- Good communicator.
