Are you an experienced senior level Network Engineer with expert Cisco Routing & Switching skills? Perhaps CCIE qualified or working towards CCIE qualification? If this describes you then please read on… As a Senior Network Engineer here you will be a technical lead for the Networks Team, responsible for day to day BAU management /support & ongoing improvement / development of the data & voice network. Specific tasks / duties will include but not be limited to; *Day to day BAU management of efficient, functional network systems *Management of all network applications and resources. *Continual service improvement (including making recommendations that would enable the network to function more efficiently) *Completing routine network maintenance procedures. *Performing periodical network anaylsis *Developing / managing relationships with vendors and service providers. *Preparation / production of Network related documentation (e.g. policies and procedures, reports, network configurations). *Responding to any emergency situations in a timely manner in order to minimise downtime. *Leading network related projects, from inception stage through to delivery & support as and when required Candidates must have proven experience in a similar network management focussed role with very strong technical skills as the position entails managing a network environment that is Cisco driven but also utilises a range of other technologies & vendors. Technical experience / skills required includes in-depth knowledge of the following technologies Cisco Routers & Switches including Cisco Nexus 7000 Network overlay technologies including Cisco OTV Cisco Wireless Access Controllers and Access Points. Multicast WAN connectivity, transport types and protocols, encompassing Ethernet point to point and VPN technologies Cisco ASA & Palo Alto firewalls and other security technologies including intrusion detection and prevention Routing and tunnelling protocols including OSPF, BGP and IPSEC. High availability technologies & protocols such as Cisco VPC, HSRP, VSS and LACP Network virtualization technologies including VRF and MPLS QoS and NetFlow (especially in respect of prioritising VoIP traffic) In addition to the above, a working knowledge of at least most of the following technologies is also required; Voice and Unified Communication infrastructure including Microsoft Lync/Skype and Mitel VoIP, Load balancing technologies Linux (and open source software) Monitoring software such as System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and SolarWinds Network protocols - DNS, DHCP, WINS, LDAP and Kerberos Working in a close knit team the working culture/ environment is high energy and fast paced.
