Senior Software Developer, Back End Cloud Services - Python, Node.js Opportunity to join a Government backed IoT / Big Data start up at the early stages!! This role will be to play a lead role in the development of a brand new big data / cloud platform! KEY SKILLS / EXPERIENCES: - Strong background (5+ years) in back end web / cloud services development. - Ideally expertise in Python - although other open source web languages could be considered. Node.js experience would also be a big nice to have. - Strong knowledge in cloud services, particularly Azure - although experience in others such as AWS would also be fine. - Proficiency in API development and design. - Senior / Leadership experience - e.g. ability to review the code of others (not formal people management). ROLE SUMMARY: Working for a Government backed start up who are now looking to develop into a fully fledged commercial enterprise, as Senior Software Developer you will take up a lead role in developing a new big data / cloud platform. This platform will contribute to a sector that hugely benefits society - hence the Government funding! We are seeking a specialist back end developer with expertise in cloud services development (ideally Azure, but other alternatives such as AWS will also be considered) - with proficiency in open source web technologies and languages, in particular Python (alternative similar languages may be considered). Node.js expertise would also be highly beneficial. With this being a 'senior' role, we are ideally seeking somebody with around 5 years' experience or more - who is capable of mentoring more junior developers and reviewing the code of others.
