A leading power electronics company are looking to appoint a highly qualified/experienced Quality Engineer to join our professional Quality department. The key focus of the role will be to support and improve the current ISO9001 Quality Management System and to develop and support a culture of Continuous Improvement within the Bipolar, IGBT and Power Assemblies manufacturing areas. The successful candidate will need to have a strong working knowledge of ISO9001 that has been applied in a high technology manufacturing department. They will hold a Degree or HND/HNC in a technical or scientific subject also a Six Sigma qualification would be advantageous. Suitable candidates will have the following aptitude/abilities: Minimum Skills/Experience: * Experience from hands on line support to running major continuous improvements projects * Minimum 5 years' experience in a role with Continuous Improvement activity * Experience in formal problem solving methods e.g. Ford 8D * Extensive experience in a Quality function * Working knowledge of ISO9001 business processes and experience working within an ISO9001 Quality environment * Experience of Continuous Improvement projects of varying size and length * Clear evidence of team leadership * Recent automotive experience desirable * Hands on knowledge of IATF16949 desirable Key Tasks: To apply Quality Systems in the Business Units to include: * Running projects to improve business and manufacturing processes * Running ISO9001 Internal Audit System * Driving corrective actions from ISO9001, ISO14001 and H&S Audits * Running and developing the problem solving process for non-conforming product / material * Running and developing the process for product / process change management * Running and developing the supplier and customer returns systems * Final sample inspection of processed wafers * Quality control of incoming parts for subsequent resale In return you will have the opportunity to develop an exciting career path in a demanding industrial semiconductor R&D environment.
