Are you an experienced Data Engineer with experience of both SQL and NoSQL based database systems? Interested in the world of FinTech? Our client is an established, and highly successful FinTech company and this is a fantastic opportunity to work on a major new greenfield project involved in the development of their new cloud architecture, big data infrastructure and a range of scalable microservices in a role where you will own the "Data piece" and be responsible for transforming large volumes of payments data into insights and visualizations that will then lead to actionable business initiatives. Key responsibilities in this role will include but not be limited to; *Creating robust, high-volume data analytics and data visualizations utilising the AWS stack. *Developing and deploying the big data infrastructure and also running analysis as part of a value business proposition. *Ensuring that all data analysis is properly tested and monitored. *Monitoring of daily exception & management reports. *Assisting in data compliance. *Trialling new tools & technologies and to assist in innovation and sharing findings with the team. (The current stack includes AWS Lamdba, Linux, Java, Python, and PostGres, but our client is open to new ideas and recommendations) You will be working as part of a dynamic and agile development team on green field projects utilising the full potential of our Amazon AWS technology stack to transform big payments data into insights and visualizations that lead to actionable business initiatives. Skills / experience sought includes; *PostGresSQL, Relational Database (SQL) and NoSQL data design, linux command line (Grep/RegularExpressions, etc), Python (or similar) and Bash. *Experience in advanced statistics. *Expert understanding of Excel with experience of Tableau a plus (but not essential). *Experience of (or interest in) Machine Learning and Time Series analysis. *A STEM degree. *Demonstrable experience in seeing complex data analysis projects through; from concept to completion. *Proven ability of working independently in a fast-paced technical environment.
