My client is a leading technology and innovation organisation that is developing the next generation of future mobility and smart cities. The transporting market in the UK is booming with ideas from driverless cars to Hyperloop being hot topics. This company are responsible for making this happen by bringing together people from research, academia, governments and industry to make this happen. You don't have to come from an automotive background but have previous experience of managing teams and driving performance. Responsibilities Leadership oProvide strong leadership, direction & line-management, and effective personal development to members of the capability area team; build collaborative relationships across the company. oForecast, obtain and integrate resources for effective and efficient use across multiple projects. Ensure that requirements are communicated, understood and agreed by appropriate parties. Establish and maintain a highly motivated and dedicated capability area team. Management of performance oEnsure the team and each team member has a clear idea of what is expected of them - expressed as SMARTly as practicable - oProvide up to date information on Company and team performance oMonitor team performance and report on metrics oOversee day-to-day operations oListen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts Development oSupport in developing the team's skills and knowledge oProvide the time, attention and effort necessary to provide the team with the tools and wherewithal enabling each person to perform to the best of their ability. oProvide constructive feedback to team members on performance oCoaching each team member to help them to improve their performance oIdentify and implement development plans for both team and team members
